I told him it is good to have a CCTV system to cover every inch of the office but it is not possible ( eg. toilet ) and it is not practical (way too expensive).
The better solution is to have good quality cameras deployed at the carefully thought out strategic spots like entrances and some hot spots. This is not only more economical but at the same time shows the employee that the company actually respect their privacy.
The rest of the uncovered area can be filled by logic and imagination. Like this suggestive Wonderbra advertisement. We can't see the whole picture... but enough.
